While it is relatively easy to discern who is responsible for this action or that one,
we rarely consider who is responsible for our thoughts.
Thoughts like a flashlight, light the terrain, and direct our attention.
We live in the world of our thoughts.
Though we are not our thoughts,
they determine the expansiveness or lack thereof, of our consciousness.
When we become aware that we alone are responsible for our thoughts,
not the external happenings in the world, a shift begins to occur.
We recognize our unclaimed freedom –
maybe in a way we have never experienced it before.
