Calm in the middle of Chaos

Chaos follows adversity.
We might experience shock, dismay, a sense of being buffeted about, a loss of control.
Though unpleasant, some misfortune will enter our human lives.
How do we navigate it in a way that allows us to stay afloat?
William James, the father of modern psychology tells us that
“Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune.”
In other words, stop fighting it or asking “Why me? Why now?” It is what it is.
Many Coloradoans faced raging floods invading their homes and collapsing bridges and roads.
Keeping centered in the calm of our innermost being allows us to navigate these devastating circumstances.
