Many describe their lives as increasingly rushed and at the same time stultifying.
Have we limited the scope of our experience and minimized our vitality of living?
Can we increase our capacity to live? And if, so, how?
What if you risk to stretch and feel the edge of your life, to fly beyond it into the larger landscape,
to live life large, to be more than you have ever been?
We long to taste the meaning of life, to wade in the waters of daring realization
that there is always more to life than we have experienced.

The relationships that shape us!

In every moment of our lives we, human beings, exist within a multidimensional web of complex connections – with ourselves and other inhabitants of the earth and the universe.  At times this web seems to stretch us, beyond our accepted ways of being. We recognize the invitation to be more and respond by opening up in new ways. At other times, it seems to distort us into configurations we do not recognize and strip away who we have known ourselves to be.

This past weekend I was in the company of writers considering creativity.It always amazes me that multiple perspectives that we have of our creativity, its availability or lack thereof and how to access it.  The psychologist and author of Flow Csikszentmihalyi tells us,“Creativity is a central source of meaning in our lives . . . most of the things that are interesting, important, and human are the results of creativity . . . when we are involved in it, we feel that we are living more fully than during the rest of life.” We so often separate ourselves from our creativity because of our lack of belief in its availability.

The Director of US Patent Office in 1899, Charles H Duell,
reportedly said, “Everything that can be invented has been invented”
and recommended that the patent office could be closed
as surely there was no longer a need for it.

How ridiculous, you might say,
but how many of our beliefs, hidden, unobserved,
might be viewed just as ridiculous
if they were brought into the light of day?
It is only by uncovering our beliefs in limitation
that we can create a larger, more expansive life
for ourselves and create greater success.

“Be present NOW!”

A tendency to retreat into the past or project into the future
often draws us away from being present TODAY.
I am reminded of the words of Tolstoy
“There is only one time that is important NOW!
It is the most important time because
it is the only time that we have any power.”

Do you seek understanding?  Then be understanding.
Do you seek love?  Then be love.
Do you seek the harmony? Then be the expression of harmony.
Do you seek peace?  Then be the expression of peace.
But you might ask,
How can I find within myself the ability
to be understanding, love, harmony and peace?
Beyond the chaos of our lives, beyond the suffering
in the deepest part of our being
there is peace, harmony, love and understanding.
However to reach this part of us it is important
that we give up the struggle.
